We use cookies for three reasons: to keep the website working and loading quickly, to understand how visitors move through the site so we can improve it, and to measure and target our own advertising. We do not use cookies to build a personal profile of you or to sell information about you.
These keep the site functioning. They handle things such as maintaining a session, remembering security tokens on forms, and letting the caching layer serve you the right version of a page. The site cannot work properly without them, so they are always on.
Our server uses LiteSpeed Cache to serve pages faster. It may set a cookie to identify which cached version of a page to serve you, for example a mobile version rather than a desktop one. It stores no personal information.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, how long people stay and which sources bring visitors. It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_CONTAINERID. The data is reported to us in aggregate. Google’s handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
We advertise our own services, so we measure whether those ads work.
This is why you may see a NextoBig ad elsewhere after visiting us. You can control it through Google Ad Settings and your Meta ad preferences.
Some cookies are set by the services above rather than by us, and a few may come from embedded content such as a video or a map. We do not control those cookies and cannot read them. Each provider publishes its own cookie and privacy policy.
Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period, which for analytics and advertising cookies is commonly a few months up to two years, unless you delete them first.
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies from its settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Look for the option to block third party cookies if you want to keep the site working while stopping analytics and advertising.
Private or incognito windows discard cookies when you close them.
Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, but there is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it. We do not currently change our behaviour based on that signal. The browser controls above are the reliable way to stop tracking cookies.
Cookies are one of the ways information reaches us. What we then do with that information, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it are set out in our Privacy Policy.
If we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, we update this page and its effective date. It is worth a look if you last read it a while ago.
Ask us what a specific cookie does and we will tell you.
